Friends for now....

On the weekend Kim and Manu took up the chess challenge. It wasn't a fast affair. I was upstairs for 2 hours and when I came down nothing had moved. Banana cake came and went... as did copious cups of tea. Three and a half hours later it was all over. And they were still friends!
And who won?
You had to be there to know.

Is that wide enough??

Luca is beginning to enjoy her food. Vegemite on toast is the all-round fave followed closely by shopping bills. Shopping trolley handles come a close third.
Jess Willow is in awe of this eating machine sister of hers and has taken to eating enormous bowls of pasta to show that she too can be a machine.
How many years must we wait for the females in the family to contend for the ''fastestlitreofchocolateicecream".
Who will win?
Are some people already in training???
And finally....is it all really worth it? For to go off ice-cream could be worse than winning the prize...

hey ho my hearties

Ay well you may think that this ''ere bottle looks like my dads grant whiskey and you may well be right but this walking thing is a difficult business and a little help goes a long way. Now I can take 2 big steps . My friend reckons it's all about relaxation. Have a drink, relax the body, heart rate goes down and bob's your uncle. Walkin'' talkin'' got a bit o the dancin'' going. Oh yeah this is really something...

beginning a bit way through

Yes, beginning a bit way through is a bizarre way to begin. This should have happened long ago...Today we (the royal) pause to celebrate because I've just about finalised Luca's hello I've been born send-out. Ok so she's 11 months and counting but hey...who's looking over my shoulder...and if your name begins with K then you mustn't answer that. So Luca is nearly 1 but this blog is a mere newborn so we'll dedicate a wee photo to it's first post...the first frangipani flower in our garden (my favourite flower as it happens). Feel free to comment on shaky hand syndrome, wrong scene application and dodgy set-up. If possible I will delete your comments as I do scary photos of myself.
So for the friends family and whatnot that come here I shall try to give you snippets of our dreamy Caledonian existence while I shall shortly start another blog to be dedicated to our sustainable house build in Perth. Somewhat more like hard work I suspect. I hope. Grand Designs tells us that that is how it is. And we do indeed believe.
